Have you ever felt “off” or just not feeling well, yet you do not really know what is wrong? If so, today’s post will interest you as we’ll consider how Therapeutic Reflexology may assist when you do not feel so well.
It sometimes happens that you may not feel so well. You just feel off. You do not feel yourself, but you just cannot put your finger on the problem. You are unable to pinpoint exactly what it is that makes you feel out of balance. That happens and people may experience this from time to time. It is just part of being human; sometimes you may have something that is out of balance leading to you feeling unwell, yet, you do not have any specific signs or symptoms justifying you to be diagnosed with a specific illness condition. It is because you are not ill, you are just “off”, or unwell, as a better description.
There can be various reasons causing you to feel out of touch with yourself, from not sleeping so well to not sleeping enough to feeling emotionally drained to feeling spiritually disconnected. Whatever the reason behind the feeling of being “off”, people sometimes experience it.
When a person undergoes a big surgical procedure like heart surgery or removal of an organ or a part of an organ or the insertion of a stent, it is a surgical procedure often saving the life of a person or improving the quality of life of the person, but it comes with some adjustments afterward.
To share a bit of a personal story; I had a stent inserted in my heart (left coronary artery) about three years ago. It began with a feeling of shortness of breath, but eventually necessitated a medical doctor visit resulting in an immediate referral to a cardiologist in a hospital. It was quite an experience because from an early age I was aware of high cholesterol problems with resulting heart problems in the family and tried to live a healthy lifestyle to prevent this from happening to me. Needless to say, when the cardiologist told me that the angiogram is showing a blocked artery and he is inserting a stent, it is a question that bugged me; why? After the procedure, he told me that high cholesterol can usually be controlled with lifestyle factors up to a point, but there usually comes a time in a person’s life when genetics take over, and then lifestyle factors alone is no longer sufficient.
It was quite a procedure as I was awake in the theatre and had all the weird experiences as the various catheters were inserted in the arteries and the stent was inserted. The result was the immediate ability to be able to breathe again, as soon as the stent was inserted; it was amazing how modern technology and medical advancements can help me breathe again.
Life after the stent has been an interesting journey because I realise that I escaped a heart attack and was given a second chance in life, but it is still a daily journey. Never before have I experienced the feeling of being “off” as I have in the past three years since the insertion of the stent. It is strange, some days you just experience some chest pains, and other days you are perfectly normal, one day I experience a feeling of just feeling “off”, yet the following day I’m on top of the world. It has been an interesting journey, but experiencing this on a regular basis, has made me more aware of what other people are experiencing, especially if they are dealing with an ongoing health condition.
Sometimes a person just feels “off” and there may be no apparent reason for the feeling.
Therapeutic Reflexology is an excellent modality to assist with this unwell feeling of just feeling “off” and not yourself because Therapeutic Reflexology is a great healthcare modality to assist in restoring balance or homeostasis in the body, regardless of what causes it. If you feel “off”, it is usually an imbalance I the body or emotions or spirit, and relaxing during a Therapeutic Reflexology treatment, is often all that is needed to bring everything back into balance. Therapeutic Reflexology is not some or other magic cure, but it helps the body to balance itself out from the inside out; it helps your body to counteract the “off” feeling by increased feelings of wellness and overall balance.
Have you been feeling “off” lately? Why not consider a Therapeutic Reflexology treatment as the difficult year of 2020 is nearing the end?
