Therapeutic Reflexology Pricing

The pricing of Therapeutic Reflexology is an investment in your health and wellbeing.  In today’s post, we’ll answer various questions about Therapeutic Reflexology pricing.

Do medical aids pay for Therapeutic Reflexology?

Yes, there are numerous medical aids that pay for therapeutic reflexology, but it depends on your medical scheme and the medical aid plan/option that you are on.  It remains the patient’s responsibility to find out whether their medical scheme or their specific medical aid option/plan covers Therapeutic Reflexology.  Therapeutic Reflexology is usually funded from the medical savings portion of the medical scheme.

Does the practice of Christo Scheepers Therapeutic Reflexology accept medical aids?

We are contracted out of medical aids which means that you need to pay for the session (we accept debit cards, credit cards, and Snapscan for your convenience) but then you are provided with the necessary documentation that you can personally submit to your medical aid for reimbursement.  Our patients are regularly reimbursed by their medical schemes and they on average get refunded within about three days. This practice has a valid practice number and uses the appropriate accounting documentation, therapeutic reflexology procedure codes, and medical ICD-10 codes therefore medical aid reimbursement is possible.

What does a Therapeutic Reflexology session cost?

The practice of Christo Scheepers Therapeutic Reflexologist works on medical aid rates; however, the actual price may not be provided unless you contact the practice directly.  Due to statutory council regulation, the price of treatment may not be shared on public platforms.

You may immediately ask, but why not because there are other Therapeutic Reflexologists advertising price lists?  At this practice, we comply with legislation and regulations.  If you want to make use of the services of a therapist that breaks the statutory council regulations, feel free to do so, but at this practice, we do not pick and choose which laws to uphold and which to break.

Do you offer any specials or promotions?

It is not allowed for Therapeutic Reflexologists to offer any specials or promotions because it is prohibited by the regulating statutory council as we are healthcare professionals and not part of the beauty or spa industry.  Your medical doctor does not offer you specials, and promotions so why would you expect it from your Therapeutic Reflexologist?

Other Therapeutic Reflexologists offer specials and promotions, you may say.  As above, if you want to spend your money at a therapist choosing to break legislation or statutory council regulations, it is your choice, but at this practice, we uphold the law and regulations.  Personally, I would not go to a healthcare professional that ignores certain rules but apparently not others; I value integrity too much.  I would personally rather spend my money at a healthcare professional that can offer me the best treatment with the highest form of skill and integrity, even if it means that I need to pay a few rands more.  However, the choice remains yours who you want to consult with.  At this practice, we comply with regulations and therefore do not offer specials and promotions as we work on medical aid rates which are seen as a fair market value for a good quality service.

What if my medical aid does not pay for Therapeutic Reflexology?

If your medical aid does not pay for Therapeutic Reflexology, it does not mean that you do not have to get the treatment.  In such an instance you may keep the invoice and use it during your annual tax returns because Therapeutic Reflexology is a tax-deductible healthcare expense that may be claimed back from your income tax.

Is the cost of Therapeutic Reflexology treatment worth it?

Yes, definitely!  You will gladly pay double or triple that amount to visit your hairdresser and there your medical aid also does not pay.  The treatment of Therapeutic Reflexology is on average less expensive than your visit to the hairdresser or your visit to the fuel pump with your car or your visit to a good restaurant.  What you get through a Therapeutic Reflexology treatment is the ultimate form of relaxation that reduces your stress and offers you various health and wellness benefits.  And let’s be real today, you ask whether a Therapeutic Reflexology treatment is cost-effective, yet you will spend five times the amount for a treatment at a spa without ever questioning the cost.

What if I cannot afford a Therapeutic Reflexology treatment?

Speak to your Therapeutic Reflexologist.  At the practice of Christo Scheepers Therapeutic Reflexologist, we offer the option to pay via credit card so you can pay for the treatment and then you can monthly repay your credit card, making it possible for you to get the necessary treatment.  You may also consider getting a sponsor to pay for the treatment on your behalf or to buy you a gift voucher as a form of payment on your behalf.

Conclusion

Therapeutic Reflexology is one of the most popular complementary healthcare therapies that are formally regulated by a statutory council in South Africa, just like your Medical Doctor is regulated by a statutory council.  The price of a 60-minute Therapeutic Reflexology treatment is very cost-effective and is less than what you would usually pay for a 45-minute Physiotherapy appointment or for a 5-minute Medical Doctor consultation.  There are various payment options available making it possible to receive treatment and to benefit from this wonderful healthcare modality while all regulatory and legislative requirements are upheld.
