Did you know that Therapeutic Reflexology is an Essential Healthcare Service and you are able to still receive Therapeutic Reflexology treatment during the time of National Lockdown, especially if it is an emergency. Let’s consider this in today’s post.
On 24 March 2020 President Cyril Ramaphosa issued a directive that all shops and businesses will be closed during a period of National Lockdown in order to prevent the spread of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19), except pharmacies, laboratories, banks, essential financial and payment services, including the JSE, supermarkets, petrol stations, and healthcare providers.
The National Health Act (Act 61 of 2003) in section 1 defines a healthcare provider as a person providing health services in terms of any law, including in terms of the Allied Health Professions Act (Act 63 of 1982). The Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa (AHPCSA) is a statutory body formally regulating various allied or complementary healthcare professions including Therapeutic Reflexology.
A registered Therapeutic Reflexologist with the AHPCSA may therefore legally continue to practice the profession of Therapeutic Reflexology within the period of national lockdown and may in cases of emergency even legally do house calls during the period of national lockdown.
Christo Scheepers Therapeutic Reflexologist is available during the national lockdown period to legally provide Therapeutic Reflexology treatments, but obviously with the necessary precautionary measures in place as the National Department of Health and the AHPCSA recommends during the period of national lockdown. To that extent, if you are in need of a Therapeutic Reflexology treatment, please contact us and we shall communicate with you regarding the necessary in order to consult with Christo Scheepers.
Our brand new practice office is in The Bridge building situated at 304 Durban Road, Tygervalley, and during the national lockdown, the building is totally locked up. If you want to schedule an appointment for Therapeutic Reflexology, the necessary arrangements are made with the building security to unlock the entrance door for a specific time period for a patient to enter the building and go to the practice office on the second floor. When entering the private practice of Christo Scheepers Therapeutic Reflexologist, you will not be in contact with any other patient as sufficient time is scheduled between appointments to ensure social distancing. Hand sanitiser is available as you enter the practice and you may wear your own face mask. Total hygienic practices are followed inside the practice, as per usual and as always in the past, to offer the highest form of professionalism and hygiene.
Any patient in need of a Therapeutic Reflexology treatment may contact us for an appointment because as an Essential Healthcare Service Provider we may attend to your healthcare needs, especially if you are experiencing any emergency conditions like pain, side effects from chemotherapy, extremely high-stress levels, uncomfortable symptoms like constipation, spasms or uncomfortable conditions like Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) and so forth or signs and symptoms during pregnancy. If you are unsure, please do not hesitate to contact us to discuss scheduling a possible appointment.
Christo Scheepers Therapeutic Reflexologist is available for you during the national lockdown to ensure your holistic healthcare needs are taken care of.
