Therapeutic Reflexology is one of the best healthcare modalities available to give you some well-deserved “me-time” where you can take time out of your daily schedule to focus on yourself and do some reflection. In this blog post we shall look into this.
As the end of the year approaches fast, we are all very stressed and people are looking forward to the upcoming festive season and vacation time, but you do not have to wait until then. You may take time out of your daily or weekly schedule to spoil yourself and just offer yourself breathing space where you can recharge and feel a bit better while you deal with all the year-end stress in your life.
With year-end approaching comes the added stress of your busy mind keeping you occupied, because after year-end comes the beginning of a new year and then you have to continue with life after the festivities. So, this is the ideal time of the year to do some reflection on yourself, on life in general and where you are going and where you want to go.
Reflection is that activity that you do in your mind when you consider where you have come from and where you want to go; it is the action of considering all the pros and cons of your life. Reflection is necessary, because if you do not make a constant decision to change something in your life, you will continue to live the life you have been living thus far. You will enter the new year doing exactly what you did previously and then you will end up with the exact same results.
December is not a magic month; it is not a month that ends everything you did not like in your life. January is not a magic month either; just because you leave December behind and enter January, does not change all your dislikes into likes. These are just normal months of the year and if you do not change things, they will remain the exactly the same. However, December and January are wonderful months of reflection; a great time to re-evaluate your life and to see what has been working and what needs work; it is a time where you can think about the life you really want and how you intend to make it a reality in your life.
Now you may ask the question, but what does that have to do with therapeutic reflexology?
Well, have you ever tried to reflect on your life? I have and it is not always easy. You sometimes know what you want, but you don’t know how to attain it. You sometimes know what does not work in your life, but you fail to see solutions on how to change these situations.
If your reflection time is anything like mine, then you have a constantly busy mind that gets to the point where you overthink everything and then begins to think around in circles. It is like your mind reaches the point where it is tired of thinking about the same things and then it becomes this circle of thoughts that keeps you busy, but you end up a week later at the exact same point you have been earlier.
Who would agree with me that this is not very effective reflection time? I do LOL.
What happens when you enter such a circling thought process, is that the matters are constantly on your mind, but even more than just keeping your mind busy, it actually depletes you of energy and you feel drained and constantly tired. Your mind is working hard, but it needs energy from somewhere to function in this non-stop manner and it is usually taken from the body, thus the reason you feel so tired. So, during the end of the year you do not only feel mentally tired, you are actually physically tired due to depleted energy reserves.
Now we are back in answering the question above; therapeutic reflexology is one of the best healthcare modalities available to help you relax, reduce stress and reenergise yourself on a physical level which then automatically leads to a revitalised mind with clear thinking and a mind that is not constantly depleting you of needed energy.
One of the best ways to do reflection, is to book yourself a therapeutic reflexology session and then spend the time relaxing in a relaxed and healing atmosphere while the therapeutic reflexologist is working on your reflexes to help your body to reenergise itself. While you are in this relaxed state and the therapeutic reflexologist is working on your feet, close your eyes and take some time out. Take some “me-time” and while you are enjoying the therapeutic reflexology session, why not do some reflection while you are in this state of relaxation. This is one of the best methods of self-reflection that works for me; therapeutic reflexology not only relaxes me, but it quiets my mind. It helps me to be able to just relax, clear my mind and then reflect on life, situations and matters from a new perspective and with renewed focus.
Have you ever tried it? What do you have to lose? It may be worth the try.
Reflection is one of those things that we all are inclined to do when you reach the end of something; we do it when we reach the end of the year, the end of a work contract, the end of a relationship, the end of an era. This is needed, because if we don’t spend the time looking inward and evaluating ourselves and often making necessary changes, it leads to you entering a new year, a new period or a new adventure with all the old troubles securely strapped on your back; you then enter the new opportunity with a heavy backpack of baggage and that is never a good way to enter a new season.
Use the festive season ahead to enjoy family time and relaxation time, but do not neglect to focus on some well-deserved “me-time” in order to do reflection on your past, present and future.
Reflection may be what you need to get a plan of action in place in order to reach your destiny in life and to make your dreams turn into reality. Reflection is also good for you to put things into perspective so you do not make any impulsive decisions and new year’s resolutions that may end up to cost you dearly. To make the correct decisions, you may need a clear and focused mind; not a mind tired of a year behind you and not a stressed mind due to year-end deadlines.
It may be worth your while to consider doing reflection with therapeutic reflexology in order to help you relax, destress, be reenergised and reflecting with a clear, focused and stress-free mind.
