Therapeutic Reflexology is for Everyone

Therapeutic Reflexology is a healthcare modality that is available to everyone.  In today’s post, we’ll consider the fact that everyone can benefit from Therapeutic Reflexology treatment.

Therapeutic Reflexology is not a magic cure for everything, but it is a recognised healthcare modality offering the body the potential to heal itself or at least, balance itself from the inside out.  It is a non-invasive therapy and therefore it may be beneficial for all people.

Therapeutic Reflexology does not discriminate and is accessible by anyone; any age, any gender, any cultural background, any ethnicity, any social status, any religion, and any physical appearance.  There is no discrimination in Therapeutic Reflexology.

It is easy to say that Therapeutic Reflexology is available to everyone, but is it recommended to everyone, or is it beneficial to everyone?  The answer is simply, yes, it may be beneficial to everyone, but there may have to be some adjustments in treatment to make it accessible to everyone.

Therapeutic Reflexology is about balancing the body and emotions.  The treatment is extremely relaxing and assists the body to balance itself while improving circulation and decreasing stress levels.  Based on this, it can be said that Therapeutic Reflexology is beneficial to everybody as a reduction in stress and improvement in circulation, may have wonderful results.

The second part of the question needs a bit more comment; Therapeutic Reflexology is recommended to everyone of all ages, but depending on the patient’s health conditions, certain adjustments to treatment may be necessary.  Some patients may have health conditions that require the Therapeutic Reflexologist to take special precautions in treatment protocol and sometimes it may be necessary to obtain permission from a medical doctor or medical specialist prior to commencing with Therapeutic Reflexology treatment in these instances.  Each person is treated as an individual so what is applicable to the one patient is not necessarily applicable to the next.  Mostly, patients may make use of Therapeutic Reflexology without any special precautions and without medical approval, but in some health conditions, additional safety precautions and permissions may be necessary.

If you are in doubt, please speak to the Therapeutic Reflexologist.  Just because you deal with a specific health condition, does not mean that you will necessarily have to forfeit treatment.  The Therapeutic Reflexologist is properly trained and as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team, may guide you to receive the best possible treatment at all times.  If the Therapeutic Reflexologist is in any doubt, contact will be made with a diagnostic practitioner to establish the treatment protocols to use and what to avoid, because the safety of the patient is the highest priority of the trained and formally regulated Therapeutic Reflexologist.

Therapeutic Reflexology is a safe complementary treatment that does not cause any harm to patients, but it has to be administered appropriately.  That is the reason why it is so important for patients to ensure that the Therapeutic Reflexologist holds a valid 2-year Diploma in Therapeutic Reflexology from a SAQA-accredited and AHPCSA acknowledged training institution as well as formal and valid registration with the AHPCSA as a Therapeutic Reflexologist.

Therapeutic Reflexology is available to anyone, but it is your responsibility to ensure you get the best possible treatment from a reputable professional; you deserve the best, do not settle for less.
