Volatile Feet

Life has become prone to constant change and uncertainty; as human beings, we have to be able to deal with unpredictability.  In today’s post, we’ll consider therapeutic reflexology in the midst of global volatility.

During the past few years, there has been constant change in organisations and people had to learn to live with constant change.  The past few months have changed the landscape even further with the global pandemic of COVID-19 changing the lives of people instantly to the point where people now have to wear face masks when entering public places.  The world is rapidly changing, sometimes from day to day, and as people, we have to live in the midst of these volatile times consisting of changes in many dimensions of life.

It is not always easy to live with change and many people may be experiencing constant uncertainty due to the volatile global community we are presently living in, but with the feeling of uncertainty, you usually experience many accompanying symptoms like anxiety, fear, worry, insomnia, lack of sleep, chronic fatigue, stress, and sometimes even trauma.  As people, we have to live in the midst of these circumstances because the circumstances and the way governments across the world are dealing with the circumstances are mostly out of our control.

Over the weekend, I watched a movie entitled “Greenland” starring Gerard Butler on the big screen; an apocalyptic disaster movie.  It was a good movie that is worth the view, although I would have liked some more action in the movie.  That being said, it is definitely a thought-provoking movie.  As you watch the movie, you realise that the actors on the screen are experiencing events that will forever change their lives and it makes you think of the present situation the global community is experiencing with COVID-19 and how it has affected the lives of everyone and how it will affect the future because it appears that life will never be the same as it used to be.

How are we dealing with such situations?  How are YOU dealing with these situations?

In the midst of difficult and constantly changing situations, we have to learn how to live a healthy life and still get in the necessary sleep and control stress and emotions to the point where we are able to function optimally without allowing the circumstances of life to take us off course and lead us away from overall wellbeing.

Therapeutic Reflexology is an ideal way to keep your body and emotions balanced as you control your stress and emotions through a relaxing therapy on your feet (or other body parts like the hands, face, and ears). Therapeutic Reflexology is one of the best healthcare modalities available to help you control stress levels, making it an ideal therapy to consider in the midst of the global volatility we are presently experiencing.

People may be afraid of touch therapy while the world is afraid of spreading COVID-19 through physical contact, but you can rest assured that Registered Therapeutic Reflexologists are regulated by a medical board (the Allied Health Professions Council of South Africa) and therefore strict cleaning and hygiene protocols are in place to keep you safe at all times; not only as suggestions to the Therapeutic Reflexologists, but legally enforced upon therapists.  When visiting a properly qualified and registered Therapeutic Reflexologist in South Africa, you are ensured of getting quality treatment in a safe environment; your safety, comfort, and wellbeing is our main concern.

It may be time to schedule your next therapeutic reflexology appointment or if you have never experienced it before, it may be time to consider scheduling an appointment.  Use therapeutic reflexology to counteract the volatility affecting us all.
