Therapeutic Reflexology in 2024

The year began while I was still on vacation in the Eastern Cape and on my return, there were so many things happening that it almost feels unreal that we are already almost in the middle of April.  What blows my mind, is the fact that this date also marks the one-year anniversary of being in my new practice office at 12 Baxter Street, Durbanville; I cannot believe it is already a year after the move to the new premises.  In today’s post, we’ll consider Therapeutic Reflexology in the year 2024.

Change happens constantly and if we do not change with the times, we may become redundant.  As a result, Christo Scheepers Therapeutic Reflexologist constantly keeps his qualifications up to date and regularly complete Continuous Professional Development (CPD) training to ensure all skills used are contemporary to provide the best possible treatment to patients.  In the past year, two such CPD training events stood out; the one was an X-tra focus on Infertility training to be up to date with the latest Therapeutic Reflexology approaches to dealing with infertility; the other was training in a new skill in the form of Foot Mobilisation, which is a fascinating new technique working with the bones in the feet and a skill that could already be incorporated in treatments at the private practice of Christo Scheepers Therapeutic Reflexologist.

The year 2024 is a post-COVID-19 year; a year where people have become accustomed to working from home and virtually, but also being constantly available on social media and electronic devices.  In many instances this constant availability has increased stress levels for employees because they value having more flexibility and working from home or a coffee shop, but it is almost as if some employers have become used to this and expects employees to be always readily available.  It is not difficult to understand the increased stress levels employees are experiencing.

With all this happening, it is almost as if Therapeutic Reflexology has become more than a mere treatment once a week or once a month, it has become a little vacation once a week or once a month where you can have some “me-time” and just focus on relaxing and almost resetting yourself before entering the whirlwind world of constant work again.

The first time a patient experiences Therapeutic Reflexology, there are usually some questions, but from the second session, the patient is more at ease and understands what the treatment is about and then often they would just lie back and relax.  In 2024, that has almost become the norm; it is as if patients are just constantly tired and needs a little vacation and personal time to get rejuvenated.  Therapeutic Reflexology offers such a short vacation of rejuvenation where the patient can just relax and not be called upon for anything, while the Therapeutic Reflexologist offers them a valuable treatment that decreases stress, improves circulation, and attempts to rebalance everything that is out of balance.  Patients often get up from a Therapeutic Reflexology session feeling totally relaxed and if walking on clouds.

The multiple benefits of Therapeutic Reflexology can be summarised in that it increases quality of life!

We all must work and deal with the constant pressures and responsibilities placed on us, but by allowing you an hour a week or an hour a month of Therapeutic Reflexology, sets yourself up to deal with your stress levels, and accompanying symptoms, and as a result you may become more productive in what you do while enjoying it, instead of dreading the work.

Is Therapeutic Reflexology thus a magic trick?  Definitely not, it is a recognised healthcare treatment in South Africa that offers the value of effectively reducing your stress levels, but simultaneously, improving your quality of life and that means that you usually enjoy life more.  Why?  Simply because when you are not constantly stressed, your focus is not on all the pressures of life, but your outlook on life begins to change.  Furthermore, Therapeutic Reflexology has the potential to physically assist your body in dealing with stress and eliminating excess toxins and chemicals keeping your body in overdrive (in the fight-or-flight mode), but to relax it into the state of rest-and-digest.  The result, your quality of life improves.

If you have not had your Therapeutic Reflexology session yet this year, why not join the trend to use the treatment as a little vacation you deserve in 2024?  If you have never experienced Therapeutic Reflexology before, why not make an appointment and experience it for yourself instead of only hearing from others what it is about.  The best benefits of Therapeutic Reflexology are the benefits you experience yourself.

Make your appointment for your own little vacation in the form of Therapeutic Reflexology without delay!
